Mission Statement

School Motto: 'I have come that they may have life and have it to the full'

At St Catherine's we believe in never giving up and making the most out of every opportunity given to us in order to find out what we are passionate about and where our gifts and talents lie.

In St Catherine Catholic School we:

Live the Gospel
We are committed to creating a community which fosters Christian relationships based on the Gospel vales of truth, justice, love, forgiveness, respect and selflessness.

Work together
We seek to work in partnership with our parish, deanery, diocese and other schools in our quest for excellence. We seek to support parents, as the first teachers of their children, to encourage children to make full use of their God given gifts.

'Are' for others
We aim to contribute to the 'common good' of the society which we serve and live in. The poor and disadvantaged - in financial, social, academic or spiritual terms - are our primary concern.

Embrace diversity
We are blessed to serve a diverse multi-cultural, multi-faith school community which we celebrate. On an individual level we expect children to have open minds and to be the unique person God created them to be as we seek to meet their specific needs.

Prepare for the future
We value a broad and rich curriculum which allows the children to discover their gifts, talents and passions.  Children have many opportunities to develop their spiritual, moral, social and cultural skills to enable them to become fully responsible members of society.

Discover our purpose
As a catholic school we play a central role in the mission of the Church to make Christ known and loved. We place Him and the teaching of the Church at the centre of children's lives and hope that their journey of faith and spirituality at St Catherine is the inspiration to live their lives fully as Christians.

Cherish and challenge
It is our privilege to educate, guide and protect each child that journeys through our school. We aim to challenge all children to be the best that they can be in every sphere.

All with Christ at the centre
Let it be known to all who enter here that Christ is the reason for this school, the unseen but ever present teacher in its classes, the model for its children and the inspiration for its staff.
